1st Annual Lighting of the Memorial Tree

The Lakefield Cemetery will be hosting our 1st Annual Memorial Tree Lighting on December 11th, 2019 at 7:00pm in our new Gazebo on the cemetery grounds. For the Tree Lighting Ceremony we will have a Celebrant on hand to give a non-denominational reflection which will be followed by the lighting ceremony. During the lighting ceremony families will be invited to hang ornaments on the Memorial Tree in remembrance of their loved ones and we will join together to sing carols. Refreshments will be served after the lighting ceremony. We are asking attendees to bring non-perishable food items for the Lakefield Foodbank. We will also be donating the proceeds of our personalized memorial ornament sales to the Foodbank. We invite everyone to partake in this new tradition and share in the warmth and light of our Memorial Tree which will stand in quiet remembrance of those missed this holiday season. The Memorial Tree will remain in our gazebo, lit up for the remainder of the season until January 10, 2020. Families who wish to pick up their ornaments can do so prior to this date. Those remaining on the tree after January 10 will be stored by the cemetery for placement next holiday season. For more information please contact the cemetery office or find us on Facebook.
