Pet Burial

 Coming to Lakefield Cemetery in 2025 Pet Burial 

In 2025 Lakefield Cemetery will be opening Companion’s Rest a combined pet and human burial section. 

Companion’s Rest has been specially designated for those wishing for a final resting place for themselves and their pets. In this section human interment can be in the form of casket burial or cremated remains burial,  niche inurnment and scattering. At this time pet burial will be limited to the burial, niche inurnment or scattering of cremated remains either with their owner or separately.

As per our Cemetery By-laws  Pets are considered to be any domesticated animal that commonly cohabits a family household for companionship or support. It excludes exotic, farm and wild animals.
